Catching up!

Happy Sunday everyone! I've had a pretty uneventful last few days. Lots of family time and now it's time to study for an exam I have in the morning. Before I do though, I have a few more cards from my JBC series and a contest entry on behalf of my expressionless girlfriend. A Cricut Expression that is. There's still time tonight to enter before the draw is done tomorrow. Go to www.mypinkstamper.com for the details.

So first up is the Love you A Latte card. My first thoughts were of Starbucks but I didn't have quite the colour combo I needed. Close enough though. (Supplies used: Cardstock: SU sierra sand, handsome hunter, and bronze. Bling: Stickles

Next up is my entry into the mypinkstamper contest. If I get picked I'm giving the expression to my wonderful friend who has been desiring one for a long time. It would be the coolest thing ever to win it for her. The theme was a father's day card so I made this one quick and simple. (Supplies Used: Cardstock: SU Sierra sand, Chocolate Chip, bayou blue Patterned: Karen Foster Bling: SU metal brads Cricut Carts: Holiday Cakes and Mickey and Friends)

Last one is yet another JBC. This is a super cute 4 1/4 inch card. It is so sweet in person. The perfect size to stick into your DH's suitcase before he heads to work, or even for a good friend! The patterned paper is from Me and My Big Ideas school themed stack. It is a bright cheery green. I kept it simple with a male recipient in mind but you could add lots to really spice it up. (Supplies Used: Cardstock: SU bashful blue, pumpkin pie, garden green Bling: random brads)

Have a wonderful night and I hope to post a few more times this week but DH is out of town so we'll have to see how it goes:)

Happy Sunday!

Good Afternoon everyone! I'm trying to get this out quick because we're heading down to the beautiful US of A this afternoon for a little shopping! So here's a few cards from last night...

Yet another one is my Just Because Cards Series
The bike is cut with the DCWV glitter stack. I then went over top of it with glossy accents to really make it look like the shiny metallic paint.
glossy accents were also added to the felt flower.

Supplies Used: Cardstock: Georgia Pacific White, SU Chocolate Chip Patterned: DCWV 2009 spring stack and K&Company Bling: Glossy accents, rhinestone, prima flowers, elmers paint pen

This next one was a departure from my regular style. Not quite sure what I think about it... This is for Card Patterns sketch65. I'm really trying to use up some of my neglected supplies so I pulled out my metallic pencil crayons from SU.

Supplies Used: Carstock: SU Kraft Pattened: DCWV glitter stack Stampsets: Hero Arts and SU (special) Bling: Rhinestone brads (SU) elmer's paint pen, ranger liquid pearls, metallic pencil crayons

Wow!

Woot woot for FRIDAY!

I hope everyone is as pumped for the long weekend as me! I just got back from a run along the beautiful Vedder river with a girlfriend and it was delightful. Hubby watched the boys and Syd came along with me. So nice to be outside enjoying nature. It's also nice to be crammed into my craft room creating so without making you wait any longer... Here are last night's creative efforts. Sadly the season finale's of The Office, The Mentalist, and Community slowed down the steam train of paper but I did get out a few cards:)

1st up is my entry into OCCSC16 sketch challenge. I'm also trying to use up scraps so I went through and found these from my K&Company valentines stack. Not my fav colour combo but it will be great for one of Sydney's little girlfriends bdays.

The really fun part was creating matching the matching pearlized flower based on this tutorial over at creationswithchristina . So easy and I was able to make an exact match with my tempting turquoise, certainly celery and green galore re-inkers. Love this technique and will be using it a ton I'm sure.
Supplies Used: Paper: Georgia Pacific, Pattened: K&Company Bling: Ribbon: Michaels ; Flower: Making Memories ; Rub-ons: SU ; Reinkers: SU; Pearl Paint: Folk Art Metallic Pearl White.
Up Next is the 17th Card from my Just Because Card series. I got this unusual colour combo from ACT30 over at Curtain call. I never thought this would work but I LOVE the orange and pink together. The black just seems to ground it beautifully!

Now a little tip for the envelopes. I do find that if I use thick cardstock that my ATG just doesn't make them stick. So the best solution I've found is my handy glue gun. It has to be high temp to really give yourself the time to get both sides glued up and closed. I tried with a low heat one and the glue just hardened to quickly and left bumps under the cardstock. Since the envie is just getting tossed you don't need to worry about the acid free. All cuts are at 6 3/4 except for the sticker on the envelope, it's at 2 3/4.

Supplies Used: Cardstock: SU Patterned: DCWV 2009 spring stack and who knows where the orange came from:) Bling: Ribbon: Michaels ; Pink Stickles, button, hemp twine.
Have a glorious long weekend!

Cheep Talk!

EEEEK! I love how simple this card was. And it's uber cute in my opinion:) This cut at 6 1/4. I really like the minimal layers so you don't have to use 7 different colours of cardstock. Touched it up with some ribbon and the cuttlebug.

How adorable is this envelope! I love the scallopy flap. I cut the stencil at 2 3/4 and added some patterned paper from Reminisce. The dots are the reverse side of the chicks.

Supplies used: Cardstock: Georgia Pacific white ; SU yoyo yellow, bashful blue ;DCWV glitter stack Patterned Paper: Reminisce Lil Chicks Bling: Cuttlebug and swiss dots ; Cricut and Just Because Cards ; SU ribbon
Have a great night and I think I have an evening of crafting in store for me so hopefully tomorrow I'll have lots to show for it!

So Corny!

Wow, I can't believe it's Tuesday already! I've had a wonderful but busy last few days. I got to get in a hike with my girlfriend on Saturday and a fantastic beach day on Sunday with the kidlets. Top it off with a 3 hour tennis match and dinner and it was the perfect weekend. I was so zonked from it all that I only got around to creating and posting a little something today! Sorry for keeping you all in suspense (Crystal!!) This is the next card in my JBC series. I love how this one turned out. Nothing fussy added but some doodles.

The card cuts at a whopping 6 3/4 so there's lots of room for writing. When putting this one together you need to attach the corn before the green husk part.
I found out the hard way that I cut the envelope the wrong direction but since I only had the one sheet of this fab paper left, It will have to do!

Supplies Used: Cardstock: SU barely banana, close to cocoa, old olive, whisper white Patterned: Jillibean Soup Ink: SU creamy caramel (for inking edges) brown marker for doodling.
A friendly reminder to follow my blog if you'd like to win these cards. I'm giving away to 3 followers 15 each of the cards from this cart.
Have a great night and I'll be back tomorrow!

A card and tutorial!

Wow, it's been almost a week since my last post and I have to admit that reality kind of got in the way. I'm back though and have a card to share today along with a tutorial so without further ado... here we go!

Ribbon Flowers!

Supplies used: Cardstock : georgia pacific,SU Patterned: DCWV Cricut and Holiday cakes cart, ribbon buttons, brads, stickles

So how do you make these delicious flowers? Easy peasy! Here are your supplies...

Two sided tape, ribbon, circle punch or your cut your own circle, brad or button, crop-a-dial (not shown)

Step 1. Lay a piece of 2 sided tape onto your cardstock.
Step 2. Punch out a circle and remove the adhesive back.

Step 3. Attach your ribbon so that most of it is off the circle. I really love this adhesive because it is super sticky and holds great.

Step 4. Start working your way around the outer edge of the circle by twisting and sticking the ribbon down to create small "petals".

Step 5. When your done working the ribbon around it should look like this.

Step 6. Punch a hole through the center of your flower using crop-a-dial and attach brad to cover the ribbon end. As an alternative you can use a glue dot and button.

Voila! Your ribbon flowers. These are so easy to make and super quick. Hope you can find a use for them on a project soon.

Have a fantastic night and check back tomorrow for some just because cards!

Stormy weather...

What a crazy day! We've had all 4 seasons in the last 12 hours! I just got back from seeing the back up plan with Jennifer Lopez. It was a pretty cute chick flick. Can't wait for Iron Man 2!

Anyways before I head to bed I wanted to post #11 in the JBC series. So without further ado...

All cuts are at 5" in the landscape position. For the shift card layer, I cut it twice, once in pink and once in the candy paper. I then cut it in half and scalloped the edge with my SU corner rounder punch.

You can really benefit from a pair of reverse tweezers on this cut. The gumdrops are pretty small and I don't think I would cut it any less.

Supplies Used: Cardstock: SU summer sun, pretty in pink, soft sky, blue bayou Patterned paper: DCWV sweet stack, glitter paper Bling: Ribbon, cuttlebug/spots and dots I think???

Have a great night everyone!
