Woot woot for FRIDAY!

I hope everyone is as pumped for the long weekend as me! I just got back from a run along the beautiful Vedder river with a girlfriend and it was delightful. Hubby watched the boys and Syd came along with me. So nice to be outside enjoying nature. It's also nice to be crammed into my craft room creating so without making you wait any longer... Here are last night's creative efforts. Sadly the season finale's of The Office, The Mentalist, and Community slowed down the steam train of paper but I did get out a few cards:)

1st up is my entry into OCCSC16 sketch challenge. I'm also trying to use up scraps so I went through and found these from my K&Company valentines stack. Not my fav colour combo but it will be great for one of Sydney's little girlfriends bdays.

The really fun part was creating matching the matching pearlized flower based on this tutorial over at creationswithchristina . So easy and I was able to make an exact match with my tempting turquoise, certainly celery and green galore re-inkers. Love this technique and will be using it a ton I'm sure.
Supplies Used: Paper: Georgia Pacific, Pattened: K&Company Bling: Ribbon: Michaels ; Flower: Making Memories ; Rub-ons: SU ; Reinkers: SU; Pearl Paint: Folk Art Metallic Pearl White.
Up Next is the 17th Card from my Just Because Card series. I got this unusual colour combo from ACT30 over at Curtain call. I never thought this would work but I LOVE the orange and pink together. The black just seems to ground it beautifully!

Now a little tip for the envelopes. I do find that if I use thick cardstock that my ATG just doesn't make them stick. So the best solution I've found is my handy glue gun. It has to be high temp to really give yourself the time to get both sides glued up and closed. I tried with a low heat one and the glue just hardened to quickly and left bumps under the cardstock. Since the envie is just getting tossed you don't need to worry about the acid free. All cuts are at 6 3/4 except for the sticker on the envelope, it's at 2 3/4.

Supplies Used: Cardstock: SU Patterned: DCWV 2009 spring stack and who knows where the orange came from:) Bling: Ribbon: Michaels ; Pink Stickles, button, hemp twine.
Have a glorious long weekend!
Sarah
